Our next meeting we will be discussing "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett. I haven't started it yet, but I got my Nook for Christmas and I will be downloading it shortly! Did anyone else get an 'ereader' for Christmas? I'm excited to get started on this book and I hope you are too!

The Christmas Train by David Baldacci
This is a great book! If you haven't read it yet, it's not too late. Pick up a copy and read it over our Book Club break. Who knew a Christmas Book could have such a great plot? It's well written and an easy read.
Merry Christmas Everyone! I will see you at our next Meeting in January.

The Girl that Played with Fire
This is the second book in a series by Stieg Larsson that we have read. We are meeting on this book Wednesday Dec. 1st at 7pm Julia's house. We'll be having Coffee (or hot chocolate) with Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies while discussing the book. I can't believe how much the charactors in the book drink coffee, all day everyday it felt like. If you can't make the meeting, but would like to add your review please leave a comment and I will add it to the post.

The Book Thief Reviews
Well only a few of us were able to make it to the Nov 17th Meeting for the Book Thief, but Amy had some awesome bread for us to nibble and we had a good discussion about the book. Here are our club reviews of the book, if you would like to add please comment.
Julia- 3 STARS
Started off odd, well written, sad but overall a good book. I cried.
Recomend it? Yes. Not around Christmas time though... Good Thanksgiving book, it made me very thankful for my life and all my blessings.
Brightly- 4 STARS
It was a great story about a girl in Germany going through many hard things and serviving it all.
Recomend it? YES
Dani A.- 4 STARS
One of my favorite reads... hard to get into at first but then it hooks you. Loved the way it was written.
Recoment it? Yes
Amy- 4 STARS
Amazing read from deaths point of view, perfect Thanksgiving. It's a fresh take on Nazi Germany with just enough of a love story. I sobbed, amazing book & I highly recommend.
Overall 3.75 STARS by our club.

The Book Thief- Meeting Nov. 17th 7pm!!
Well this is Julia, and I started the book today. My initial thought after the first couple chapters was, "what the heck did I just read?" What was everyone else's? Was I the only one that sent Amy a text saying I'm not so sure about this... but I can say a little further into it, and it's getting better.

Welcome!
This will be the first blog post for our new Book Club Blog. First we need to decide a name! Please comment if you can think of something better than 'Wednesday Night Book Club', it's all I could think of at the time.
I google'd a few and saw some play with the word liturature like 'Lit Ladies' etc. Any idea's? Should we keep it simple, or should we do something funny? Happy Valley Woman that read, No boys allowed, Girls night out reading... I'm not sure..
Anyway, welcome to the blog, please check back, post and comment as often as you'd like. We can use this blog to keep track of the books we're read, we can rate them, we can start whatever we want. Thanks for joining our book club, and if you haven't we meet every other wednesday night at 7pm in Springville/Spanish area.
