The Glass Castle is a Memoir of Jeannette Walls. She had a very interesting upbringing and life story, and did an amazing job writing about it. I was so fascinated with this book and I couldn't help but thinking about my childhood while reading this and realizing that everyone views life and raising children differently. Ginger told me that she loved how Jeannette was able to write about terrible things happening to her and her family, but not be telling it to make you feel sorry for her, she was simply saying 'this is how it was' and nothing more. I think everyone in the club that read this book would agree that it is
definitely worth reading, and we all enjoyed hearing her story. I agree with Dani when she told me that parts of the book disturbed her, but I
applaud Jeannette for being able to write about it openly. I think a lot of families 'hush hush' subjects because they think if they don't talk about it, then it's not real and it won't happen. But the things that happened in this book are very real, and I personally learned a lot and took away many life lessons from this book.
